What to expect in your session...

Here is a short video to show you how a typical session is set out.

We tailor every appointment to your dogs' needs, but the format is the same.

Below is a detailed description of what to expect.

Initial Consultation

Appointment lasts 1 hour
Includes full body assessment & movement assessment
Help & guidance for helping your dog at home & exercising
Introduction to the underwater treadmill, followed by 30 minute session
Tailored treatment plan

During Session

Review of dogs condition on entry to ensure the session can go ahead
Fitted with life jacket or harness depending on requirements
Warm shower to warm muscles and wash paws
30 minute tailored hydrotherapy treatment
3 x intervals during walking for rest & massage
Showered on exit & blow dried if desired

After the session

Keep dogs warm until dry with towelling robe or jacket
Allow time to rest & sleep- wake after an hour of deep sleep to prevent stiffness of joints
Use heat pads on targeted areas as advised by your hydrotherapist on the day.
No meals for 1 hour post session (prevents bloat)
Follow your personalised recommended exercise plan from the hydrotherapist, on the day of session to prevent over exertion
Monitor changes and report back to us next time

What you will need

A towel for drying
A towelling robe or coat for after session
Special treats for motivation: cheese, chicken, sausages etc
A favourite toy (we have many at the centre but some prefer their own)
Arrive slightly before your appointment to allow for doggie toilet break

24 hour Cancellation policy

You will be charged for your session if you cancel on the day, subject to conditions

We will postpone your dogs' session for any of the following reasons:

Vomiting or Diarrhoea 24 hours or less before appointment
Open wound or stitches
Ear or eye infection
Skin infection
